Types of intervention
Industrial plants require site-specific treatment cycles, selected according to structural characteristics, the corrosivity category of the exposure environment and prevailing site conditions. FES Global Group carries out the following principal types of intervention.
Anti-Corrosion Treatments
Anti-corrosion coating systems applied in compliance with ISO 12944, covering surface preparation through to primer, intermediate coats and topcoat application. Cycle selection is determined by the corrosivity category (C3, C4, C5) and the maintenance interval specified in the project documentation. FES conducts in-process dry film thickness (DFT) inspection and produces certified technical documentation upon completion.
Industrial Blasting and Surface Preparation
Certified preparation of metallic and concrete surfaces to cleanliness grades Sa 2, Sa 2½ and Sa 3 in accordance with ISO 8501-1/2 — a fundamental prerequisite for the durability of any subsequent protective coating system. FES manages the blasting phase directly, ensuring process continuity and single-point accountability across the full scope of work.
Intumescent Coating and Passive Fire Protection
Application of intumescent coatings and fireproofing systems to structural steelwork to achieve the fire resistance ratings (REI classes) required by the project’s fire protection design. Mandatory for industrial warehouses, production facilities and structures subject to fire prevention regulations, including hydrocarbon fireproofing for high-risk petrochemical and energy installations.
Waterproofing
Waterproofing systems for roofing, industrial flooring, containment tanks and structures subject to water ingress or exposure to aggressive chemical substances. FES selects the most appropriate system — bituminous membranes, polyurea, or cementitious systems — based on structural characteristics and exposure conditions.
Chemical Washing and Industrial Cleaning
Professional cleaning of façades, vertical surfaces and industrial structures using targeted chemical detergents and hot-water high-pressure washing. Recommended for the periodic maintenance of production facilities, industrial façades and environments subject to accumulation of dirt, grease and industrial particulate.
Laser Cleaning
Removal of rust, paint, contaminants and surface oxidation using high-power laser technology — abrasive-free and residue-free. Particularly suited to precision components, machinery and surfaces where conventional abrasive treatment would be inadvisable.
