Arsenale di Verona
Verona, Italy
In the heart of Verona, FES took part in the restoration of the city’s historic Arsenale: one of its most symbolic architectural landmarks. The intervention focused on the external stone façades, worn down by time and prolonged exposure to atmospheric agents.
Through a series of precise and respectful operations, the goal was to recover the original aesthetic of the stonework and prepare the building for subsequent restoration and urban enhancement phases.
The client's goal:
Commissioned by the City of Verona, FES carried out a deep and controlled stone cleaning process designed to remove deposits, pollutants, and encrustations accumulated over time. The aim was to restore the natural appearance of the original materials without altering their integrity, striking the perfect balance between effectiveness and delicacy to ensure long-term conservation.
Our services
Mechanical cleaning of surfaces using compressed-air abrasives to remove rust, scale, old paint, and impurities, creating a rough profile optimal for coating adhesion.
Results
The intervention brought new life to the historic façade, enhancing the architectural character of the Arsenale. The restored stone surfaces are now clean, dry, and prepared for further restoration stages, achieving a visually coherent and historically respectful result. An operation that blends technical expertise with a deep sensitivity toward cultural heritage.
